Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Slainte Health, Inc. (“Sláinte,” “we,” “us,” “our”) governing your use of the Sláinte app, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Sláinte

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. By using it, you confirm that you are at least 18 and able to enter into these Terms. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use it.

2. What Sláinte is

Sláinte is a general wellness companion that may help you take proactive steps toward better long-term wellness. It may provide personalized wellness insights and suggestions based on information you choose to provide, including health and lifestyle information, and may surface information about local services, programs, and resources that may be relevant to your wellness interests or preferences.

3. Sláinte is not medical advice

This is important. The Service provides general wellness and informational content only. It is not medical, clinical, or professional health advice, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified healthcare provider.

• Sláinte does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition, and using it does not create a doctor–patient or other professional relationship.
• Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified provider with any questions about your health, and before starting, changing, or stopping any exercise, diet, or health-related activity.
• Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you saw in the Service.
• If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. The Service is not designed for emergencies and should not be relied on for them.

You are responsible for deciding whether any suggestion is appropriate for you, and you use the Service and act on its suggestions at your own discretion and risk.

4. Your account and your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information and to be responsible for activity under your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of any credentials, authentication methods, recovery methods, or devices you use to access the Service, including an email address, Sign in with Apple, or other login method. You must promptly notify us if you believe your account or access credentials have been used without your authorization.

Sláinte keeps the detailed health information you enter on your device, and stores a limited set of information — including the wellness scores calculated from it — on servers we operate. Our Privacy Notice explains what is kept where, and for how long.

You are responsible for the device you use. Please note that Sláinte data on your device is deliberately excluded from your device’s backups to keep it private, which means it cannot be restored from a backup if you lose or reset your device. We handle account information, connected-device information, and other information as described in our Privacy Notice, including the applicable storage, retention, and deletion practices.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law; or use the Service to harass, harm, or mislead others. We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe these Terms are being violated.

6. Connected devices and third-party services

You may choose to connect wearables or health platforms (such as Oura or Apple Health) to the Service. Those connections are optional, and your use of any third-party device, app, or platform is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party products or services, their availability, or the accuracy of data they provide. The Service may also point you to local programs, classes, venues, and resources operated by third parties; we do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for those third parties, and any interaction with them is between you and them. You may disconnect a third-party connection at any time through the available settings or by contacting us. Our handling, retention, and deletion of data received through a connected service are described in our Privacy Notice.

7. Privacy

Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Notice, available at slainte-health.app/privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that information is handled as described there.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and other content we provide (excluding your own data and third-party materials), is owned by Sláinte or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial wellness use, subject to these Terms. Public-health guidelines and other third-party sources referenced within the Service remain the property of their respective owners. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us permission to use them to improve the Service without obligation to you.

9. Suggestions and content

Wellness suggestions, scores, and local recommendations are provided for general informational purposes. We aim to base them on credible public-health evidence, but we do not guarantee that any suggestion, score, or listing is accurate, complete, current, suitable for you, or free of error. Availability, timing, and details of third-party activities and resources may change without notice.

When the personalization service is unavailable, Sláinte shows a suggestion from a reviewed set stored in the app so you always have something useful. These offline suggestions are not personalized to your most recent information.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any result or outcome will be achieved. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, third-party providers, including connected-device and health-platform providers, do not make warranties regarding the Service and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sláinte and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Sláinte harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can also delete your account from You ▸ Data & privacy. Doing so immediately removes the Sláinte data stored on your device and cancels any reminders, and files a request to delete the information held on our servers. You can check the status of that request in the app. Some minimized records — such as consent and security records — may be retained where we need them to meet legal and accountability obligations.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We may also update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you and Sláinte consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. Nothing in these Terms limits either party’s right to seek equitable relief where appropriate.

16. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Sláinte regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
